A majestic 14-story cruise ship will now be scrapped due to a lack of parking space in the country’s busiest port, Karachi.
The ship’s new owner, Ahmadullah Khan, said he made efforts for the ship to provide recreation as he hoped to convert it into a hotel or cruise to boost tourism.
He said he contacted the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) and other authorities, but no space for the cruise ship could be found in the country’s major ports.
As a result, the ship Celestyal Experience, formerly known as Costa Romantica, has been demolished at the Gadani shipbreaking yard.
