‘Pakistan Honour Card’ Launched for Top Exporters, Taxpayers

The federal government has launched the ‘Pakistan Honour Card’ initiative for the tax year 2023 to reward top taxpayers and exporters with special privileges and benefits. This initiative aims to recognize their contributions to the economy and encourage others to follow suit.

Recipients of the ‘Pakistan Honour Card’ will be selected from those honored by the prime minister during the Tax Excellence Award ceremony on March 26, 2024. These cards will be valid for one year and will provide exclusive benefits to the holders.

According to a notification from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), the scheme will begin implementation in March. The cards will be distributed to various categories of top exporters and taxpayers, including those in sectors such as chemicals, food, leather, machinery, pharmaceuticals, sports goods, steel, metal, paper, plastic, and information technology.

For the first time, the initiative will also extend to new exporters and women exporters, highlighting the government’s commitment to promoting diversity and inclusivity in the business sector.

In addition to large companies and associations of persons (AOPs), individual taxpayers and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) will also be eligible for the ‘Pakistan Honour Card,’ ensuring that a wide range of contributors to the economy are recognized and rewarded.
