Pakistan Launches First Home Built Assault Boat to Counter Security Threats at SEA

Pakistan’s Bahria Boat Building Yard has unveiled its first 12T marine assault boat at its Karachi location.The surveillance boat will be used by patrol teams as part of an effort to enhance the Pakistan Navy fleet.
According to ArabNews, which cited authorities with direct knowledge of the project, the country’s first locally-made 12T multipurpose marine assault boat was launched as part of a technology transfer agreement with Polish shipyard Techno Marine.

The modern attack boats are built to withstand weapon penetration and are propelled by twin engines with water jet propulsion. These vessels can transport more than a dozen people at a time and are outfitted with the most up-to-date navigation technology.
These vessels, which are more than 13 metres long and 3.50 metres wide, can travel quickly in coastal waters for observation. Other features of these assault boats include firefighting in the event of a sea emergency, as well as operating as a sea ambulance to rescue individuals from a ship or the open sea.
