Pakistan Launches World’s Fastest Turkey-made speedboat to boost adventure tourism in North.

Tourists visiting Attabad Lake and the Hunza River in Pakistan’s mountainous northern areas will be able to ride one of the fastest jet boats in the world beginning in May 2022, according to tourism promoters. The jet boats will be introduced for the first time in Pakistan by an overseas investment group, the Pak Greenland Corporation, to promote adventure tourism.

The purpose-built jet boat landed in Hunza, Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), earlier this month from Turkey, and will provide rapid journeys between the Shishkat and Hussaini Bridge (Passu Cone) in Upper Hunza.

According to GB Invest, a public-private group that promotes investment in the region, Gilgit-Baltistan is one of Pakistan’s top tourism sites, hosting over 10 million foreign and local tourists each year and contributing over Rs 300 million to the local economy.

The region is also home to K-2, the world’s second-highest mountain after Mount Everest.

“We will begin operations in May this year because the Attabad Lake is still covered in ice and we are waiting for the ice to melt,” said the company. Ul Milad

Salman, the Pak Greenland Corporation’s manager, told Arab News on Saturday.
“The boat is expressly intended to function in the Hunza River, where there is a lot of sand in the water.”

The boat can transport 22 persons at a time and will go 5-6 kilometres upstream from Shishkat to Passu Cone in 15 minutes.”
With two strong 12,400 CC engines and extensive safety systems, the speedboat can travel at high speeds in shallow waters in lakes and rivers.
