Pakistan Produced 7.16 Million phones in first three months of 2022.

An amount of 7.16 Million cellphones were being produced by the local manufacturing Corporations, in the first three months of 2022, as per the statement of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). According to the data recorded by PTA, the amount of domestically produced smartphones, raised up to 3.52 Million in March, contrasting with commercial imports of 0.15 Million. In the recent times, Pakistan made a record through exporting its very first smartphone shipment to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with a Tag “Manufactured in Pakistan”

The commercial imports of Mobile Phones are are predicted to be reached by 10.26 million in 2021, decreasing from 24.51 million in 2020. Consequently, the amount of domestically produced smartphones has been surged by nearly 88 percent from 13.05 million in 2020 to 24.66 million in 2021, reflecting Robust local Smartphone manufacturing scheme.

Mobile phones valued $1.596 billion were being purchased in the first nine months of 2021 (22 July-March) comparing to the amount purchased in the previous year which was $1.535 billion, despite the expansion in the development of local mobile phones. 4.33 Million of the 7.16 million cellphones were being produced in the first three months, which includes 2G handsets, with an additional 2.83 million comprising 3G and 4G smartphones, as per the statement disclosed by PTA.
