Pakistan Railways Uncovers Land Worth Millions from Illegal Occupants

Pakistan Railways recently undertook a significant operation to reclaim valuable land at Gilani Station from illegal occupants. This move aimed to combat encroachment on railway property. During the operation, authorities demolished shops that were built without permission on the unlawfully occupied land.

According to officials, these shops were constructed without authorization on railway land, which is estimated to be worth millions of rupees. The successful operation highlights the railway’s commitment to addressing encroachment issues and protecting its assets.

In a related development, in 2020, the Supreme Court addressed a case concerning the revival of the Karachi Circular Railways (KCR). During the proceedings, the counsel representing Pakistan Railways informed the court about the submission of a report regarding the matter. This indicates ongoing efforts by the railway authorities to address infrastructure challenges and improve rail services in the country.
