‘Pakistan Team has Ability to Beat Any Team in the World’, Shahid Afridi

Former Pakistan captain and renowned all-rounder Shahid Afridi has expressed his confidence in the current national team’s ability to win against any team in the upcoming ICC Men’s World Cup 2023 in India. Afridi praised the team led by Babar Azam, saying they are in great form and have the strength in every area to outperform their opponents.

Speaking at the signing ceremony of the Sindh Premier League (SPL) franchise Benazirabad Lals, Afridi emphasized the importance of maintaining fitness for the players amidst a busy schedule leading up to the World Cup. He mentioned upcoming series in Sri Lanka, the Asia Cup, and the World Cup, and highlighted the need for continuous cricket and fitness maintenance.

Afridi also stressed the significance of building a strong backup team in case any first-choice players get injured. He believes that having a solid bench strength is crucial for the team’s success and mentioned that Pakistan should be able to perform well even if key players like Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi are unavailable.

Apart from discussing the national team, Afridi also mentioned his participation in the inaugural edition of the Sindh Premier League. He will be leading the Benazirabad Lals, while veteran cricketer Shoaib Malik will be leading the Hyderabad Bahadurs.
