Between August 30 and September 17, matches in the Asia Cricket Cup will be protected by Pakistan Army and Rangers.The deployment of the armed forces and Rangers for the security of the Asia Cup was given the all-clear on Saturday by the interim federal government.
A circulated assessment from the Interior Ministry for the security of the international cricket competition was authorised by the federal cabinet. From August 27 through September 6, the Army and other military units will deploy.Punjab Rangers will be sent in the area as a Quick Response Force (QRF), and the Army will be deployed as a third-tier QRF. Commandos and other special forces will wait in readiness.
The Interior Ministry received a letter from the caretaker administration earlier requesting the deployment of army and Rangers members.Multan will host the opening match of the 2023 Asia Cup, while Lahore’s Qaddafi Stadium will host the next three.
