Pakistan to Hold Qur’an Recitation Event at Shah Faisal Mosque in Ramadan

Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced that the Mehfil Shabeena, a week-long Qur’an recitation event, will be held at the Shah Faisal Mosque in Islamabad from Ramadan 21 to 27. This spiritual event will feature renowned Qur’an reciters from across the country, gathering to honor this sacred tradition.

Shabeena is a yearly event where the entire Qur’an, consisting of more than 6,000 verses, is recited during the final nights of Ramadan, often taking place over three nights. These last ten days of Ramadan are particularly significant for Muslims as they devote time to prayers, seeking blessings and spiritual growth.

Out of the 56 reciters nominated from all over Pakistan, only 14 have been chosen to participate in this prestigious event. The preparations are in full swing, as Ramadan is expected to begin either in late February or early March.

The Mehfil Shabeena is a deeply cherished tradition, uniting Muslims in prayer and reflection, and providing an opportunity to immerse in the spiritual essence of Ramadan. The gathering at Shah Faisal Mosque is expected to bring together people from all walks of life, fostering unity and devotion in this blessed month.
