The first practice match for Pakistan before the World Cup will not have any fans in the stadium in Hyderabad. India’s cricket board (BCCI) made this decision due to safety concerns.
The match, which is between Pakistan and New Zealand and was set for Friday, will happen without spectators because local security agencies advised it.
This decision was made because there are expected to be large crowds in the city due to festivals on the same day. People who bought tickets for the match will get their money back. Pakistan will have another practice game against Australia on October 3 before starting their World Cup matches against the Netherlands three days later.
