Pakistani Bohra Community Celebrates Eid Today

Today, the Bohra Community is celebrating Eidul-Fitr in Karachi and different parts of Pakistan. They follow their own calendar, which is separate from the official moon sighting schedule.

People from the Bohra Community have come together at the Tahiri Masjid in Karachi’s Saddar area to take part in the Eid prayers after listening to a meaningful sermon. They celebrate Eid on this particular day as per their tradition.

However, the official announcement of Eid is still awaited, as it depends on the decision of the moon committee meeting. Usually, Pakistan and other Muslim countries celebrate Eid when they spot the Shawwal moon.

To ensure a safe and peaceful Eid-ul-Fitr celebration, extra security measures have been implemented around the mosque. Both police and Rangers personnel are present to ensure the safety of everyone attending the prayers.

The Dawoodi Bohra community mainly lives in India, but it also has significant populations in Pakistan, Yemen, East Africa, and the Middle East. They are also present in Europe, North America, Southeast Asia, and Australia, which shows their increasing global presence and influence.
