Pakistani Freelancers Can Now Open Digital Accounts in Both Rupees and Dollars

According to media reports, Syed Junaid Imam, an IT department member, was invited as a special guest to an event held at a local hotel in Islamabad, alongside Bank of Punjab President and CEO Zafar Masood, other officials, and a significant number of freelancers.

During the event, Syed Junaid Imam announced that freelancers could now open accounts in dollars and rupees from their own homes, highlighting the important role that freelancers play in the growth of the IT sector.

He also mentioned that Pakistan’s IT exports were aiming for a target of $15 billion and urged commercial banks to offer their banking products and facilities to IT companies and independent contractors to help achieve this goal, while also acknowledging the IT Ministry’s efforts in this regard.
