Pakistani Job Seekers Trapped in Cambodia After Falling for Fake Offers

Hundreds of Pakistanis have been trapped in Cambodia after falling for a fake job scheme. Scammers lured them with false job offers through social media ads. Once they arrived, their passports were taken away, and they were forced into illegal work.

After receiving complaints, the Pakistani embassy informed Cambodian authorities, who carried out a rescue operation. As a result, over 100 Pakistanis were freed. However, many others are still stuck in remote areas and are unable to escape.

More than 20 Pakistanis, including a woman, were sent back to Pakistan after seeking help from the embassy. Meanwhile, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has started an inquiry into the matter. Investigators have discovered similar scams operating in Lahore and Karachi.

Most of the victims belong to Punjab, and authorities are now taking action against those responsible for deceiving them. The government urges people to be cautious about job offers from unknown sources and verify employment opportunities before traveling abroad.
