Pakistani Mountaineer Dies During K2 Summit

A Pakistani mountaineer, Muhammad Hassan tragically lost his life due to a massive avalanche while attempting to climb K2, the world’s second-highest peak in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan.

The deputy commissioner of Shigar confirmed the incident and further revealed that Hassan was hit by the avalanche near the Bottle Neck as he was reaching the summit. Unfortunately, the body of the mountaineer could not be recovered as it was buried at the site.

Additionally, another incident took place at Nanga Parbat, where a Polish tourist named Pawel Tomasz Kopec lost his life while trying to climb the world’s ninth-highest peak, located in Gilgit-Baltistan. Pawel died due to acute altitude sickness after reaching the summit. His death was verified by the Alpine Club of Pakistan.
