Pakistani origin professor appointed UK Govt’s chief economist.

Dr. Adnan Qadir Khan, a Pakistani economist, has been named Chief Economist of the UK government’s Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).

According to a release, the London School of Economics (LSE) School of Public Policy revealed in a congratulatory message that Professor Adnan Khan, now a professor at the LSE, has been selected as the FCDO’s head economist beginning January 2022.

Dr. Adnan Qadir Khan will be missed, according to the LSE. Dr Khan has been a professor and academic director at the LSE’s School of Public Policy for a number of years,” the statement continued.

Dr Khan studied engineering, philosophy, and international affairs at UET and Punjab University, and is a native of Dera Ghazi Khan.
