Rabia Zakir, a Pakistani painter, has made her country proud by being the first international artist to organise a solo display in the Saudi city of Madinah.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s “Vision 2030” hailed the outstanding artist for fostering arts and culture in the kingdom.
For the uninitiated, Zakir is well known in diplomatic circles in Islamabad for her portraits of Arab leaders, including the Saudi crown prince and members of the royal families of the UAE and Bahrain.
Her portraits and landscapes may be seen at 50 embassies in Pakistan, the most of which are from Arab countries such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman.
