Tea consumption in Pakistan has gone up significantly, with people in the country spending over Rs31 billion on tea in just two months. This data comes from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
During the first two months of the current fiscal year, Pakistanis consumed tea that was worth more than Rs31 billion. The tea imports for July and August in this fiscal year added up to Rs31.64 billion. This is an increase of Rs11 billion compared to the same period last year.
In August 2023 alone, Pakistan imported tea worth Rs15.91 billion, while in August 2022, the imports were valued at Rs10.29 billion.
These numbers show that there is a big and growing demand for tea in Pakistan recently.
