Pakistan’s 17-Year-Old Hanan Shahid Wins Emerging Player Award in Asian Hockey Champions Trophy

Seventeen-year-old Abdul Hanan Shahid, a young hockey player from Pakistan, achieved the Emerging Player Award in the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy held in Chennai, India on Saturday. Hanan, who plays as a forward, impressed everyone by scoring two goals in six matches for Pakistan.

He played a significant role in the team’s attacks with his energy and quick movements. His exceptional performance during the tournament earned him this special award. Notably, Hanan had previously won the Emerging Player of Asia award in March 2023, given to him by FIH president Tayyab Ikram.

Hanan’s journey hasn’t been without challenges, but he remains hopeful and positive about Pakistan’s prospects in the tournament. He believes that his team has a good chance to finish among the top competitors and stand on the winner’s podium.
