Pakistan’s Bike Production Drops for First Time Since 2000

Motorcycle manufacturing and sales have continued their robust growth from approximately 100,000 bikes in 1999-2000 to 2.6 million in 2021-22, even after recession of boom.

Whereas, 2022-23 would be the first fiscal year after 2000, when bike manufacturing will decrease abruptly.

The basic reason in the drop down could be due to raise in the price of bikes.

As two-wheelers are bought and used by average income buyers, the sales might have slowed if the prices remained firm.

While, at current situation an average income people are struggling to fulfill their needs.

Furthermore, the second basic reason could be dropped down in agricultural productivity as mostly bikes are owned in rural areas. However, the havoc flood recently also affected around 34 million people are the reason form declined sales.
