Pakistan’s Exports to United States Rose by 11.86% in Eight Months

Pakistan’s exports of goods and services to the United States rose by 11.86 percent in the first eight months of the fiscal year (2020-21) compared to the same period the previous year.

Overall exports to the United States totaled $3082.199 million from July to February (2020-21), up 11.86 percent from $2755.188 million from July to February (2019-20), according to SBP results. Meanwhile, exports to the United States rose by 27.68 percent year over year in February 2021, from $314.802 million to $401.949 million.

Exports to the United States, on the other hand, increased by 0.50 percent month over month in February 2021, compared to $399.931 million in January 2021, according to SBP results. In the last eight months, Pakistan’s exports to other countries have decreased by 2.26 percent, from $16.438 billion to $16.065 billion. In comparison, imports from the United States into the country during the review period totaled $1467.056 million, down from $1470.703 million the previous year, suggesting a nominal decrease of 0.24 percent in the first seven months of this year.

Meanwhile, imports from the United States fell 4.37 percent year over year in February 2021, from $247.366 million to $236.532 million. However, as compared to the import of $235.810 million in January 2021, imports from the United States increased by 0.30 percent in February 2021, according to SBP reports.
