Fatima Group, a Pakistani industrial conglomerate, has signed agreements worth more than $1 billion with two agriculture players, one from China and the other from Saudi Arabia.
Arabia – to offer sophisticated precision farming to Pakistan at the Dubai Expo.
Under the Corporate Agriculture Farming project, the alliance aims to unleash Pakistan’s underutilised land resources by bringing fallow lands under cultivation for sustainable production of crops such as rice, barley, oats, silage bales for livestock, and dairy industries.
In a formal meeting conducted at the Pakistan Pavilion during the ongoing Agriculture Week at Expo 2020, China Machinery Engineering Company (CMEC) and Saudi Arabia’s Sarh Attaqnia Co. (SAC) formalised the partnership.
“We appreciate the trust and faith that our Chinese and Saudi counterparts have placed in us. “I am certain that this milestone will pave the way for many more such collaborations and investment opportunities in the future,” said Mian Fawad Ahmed Mukhtar, chairman of the Fatima Group and CEO of Fatima Fertilizer Company Limited.
As a technological partner, CMEC will assist Pakistan in the adaptation of climate-smart precision agricultural farm machinery, improved high-yielding seeds, and other crop inputs.
