Pakistan’s First 120KW Fast Electric Vehicle Charging Station Launched

Pakistan has opened its first 120KW fast electric vehicle (EV) charging station in Islamabad. The project was developed by GoGreen Avenue and marks a significant step towards promoting clean energy and sustainable transportation.

Federal Minister for Power, Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari, inaugurated the station. During the event, he highlighted the government’s dedication to supporting eco-friendly initiatives. He also announced a major reduction in EV charging rates. The cost has been lowered from Rs71 to Rs39 per unit, making electric vehicles more affordable for the public.

The minister emphasized that public-private partnerships like this are crucial for promoting green energy. By encouraging the use of electric vehicles, the government aims to reduce air pollution and decrease dependence on fossil fuels.

GoGreen Avenue’s fast charging station will allow EV users to charge their vehicles quickly, making long-distance travel more convenient. This development is expected to encourage more people to switch to electric vehicles, contributing to a cleaner environment.

In addition to reducing fuel costs for consumers, the initiative will support Pakistan’s broader sustainability goals. The government plans to install more charging stations across the country, creating a reliable EV infrastructure.

Experts believe that affordable charging options will boost the electric vehicle market in Pakistan. It will also encourage automakers to invest in producing more EV models for local consumers. With the new pricing and infrastructure in place, Pakistan is taking an important step toward a greener, cleaner future.

The launch of the charging station is a positive sign for the country’s commitment to renewable energy and sustainable growth. It represents how collaboration between the government and private companies can lead to meaningful environmental progress.
