Pakistan’s first LNG Terminal to be Functional next year.

On Friday, Energy Minister Hammad Azhar stated that the country presently has two Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) terminals running to meet the ever-increasing energy needs of consumers, with the hope that a third facility will be operational by next year.

In an interview with Bloomberg, the minister stated that Qatar, one of the world’s top LNG suppliers, was also looking to invest in the establishment of an import plant in Pakistan.

“The administration is considering transforming a section of a state-owned liquefied petroleum gas terminal into its own import facility,” he said.

He stated that Pakistan was following a policy to open up the oil and gas sector for active engagement of private enterprises as part of its ease-of-doing-business plan in order to satisfy rising demand.
