Pakistan’s Likely Playing XI for T20 World Cup Match Against USA

Pakistan is gearing up to kick off their journey in the T20 World Cup 2024 today as they face the United States in Dallas.

As per details from espncricinfo, Pakistan’s opening pair will feature Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam. Due to an injury to Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan is likely to retain his spot in the lineup, while Abrar Ahmed might be included to strengthen Pakistan’s spin bowling department.

Azam Khan, renowned for his powerful batting, is also set to play a crucial role in today’s match. Leading the pace attack for Pakistan will be Haris Rauf, Shaheen Afridi, and Mohammad Amir.

Captain Babar Azam shared his confidence ahead of their inaugural match in the T20 World Cup 2024.

“I, along with my teammates, am very optimistic about our prospects in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. It’s a significant tournament and everyone is eager to contribute to a successful campaign,” Azam stated in a press release from PCB.

“We have been preparing diligently and are determined to give our best performance on the field. All 20 teams are aiming for victory. It will be a challenging tournament, but that’s the allure of world championships.

“We will select our team based on the conditions we encounter in the USA, where we will face unfamiliar opponents. Adaptability in team selection is crucial in modern cricket, and our players are fully aware of their roles.”
