Although the COVID19 pandemic affected April and May, bilateral trade improved significantly in the first four months of 2022.

According to China Economic Net (CEN), China imported more than 601,574.052 tons of mixed rice (worth more than $225.52 million) from Pakistan, up 12.45%.

Michael (Gao), head of sales at Hefei Meyer Optoelectronic Technology International, told Gwadar Pro that Chinese technology has helped Pakistan increase rice processing yield and maintain high quality.

Michael added, “Almost 1,000 Meyer colour sorters are used in Pakistan. Our sales volume has increased every year”.

He further said that almost all major Pakistani rice exporters to China used their sorting machines and showed satisfaction with their products, adding that this also indicates that the export of rice to China is increasing every year.

Gao said, “We have authorized agents in Pakistan; They have a professional service team. Meanwhile, the machine can be connected via WIFI, and we provide remote service; we can even check computer problems in China.”

Pakistani companies also source the best paddy rice and install the latest milling machines to get the best production yields.

Chinese technologies help them achieve vertical results. It is worth mentioning that 53 Pakistani rice companies are on the approval list of the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China.
