Abdul Razak Dawood, the Prime Minister’s Commerce Adviser, revealed on Twitter that Pakistan’s rice exports have surpassed $2 billion.
“We are very pleased of our rice exporters since, despite all hurdles such as COVID-19, global logistic crisis, increased freight prices, and so on, they have nevertheless managed to cross the 2 billion USD mark in exports,” he stated on Twitter.
“I congratulate REAP and all of its members on this great achievement,” the adviser continued. Government policies will continue to promote exporters, and rice will continue to be a major export commodity for Pakistan.”
Pakistan’s exports increased by 17.3 percent to $2.35 billion in the first month of the current fiscal year FY21-22, July 2021.
