Pakistan’s Weekly Inflation Down by 8.1% on Decline in Food Prices

Recently, On 22 Sept inflation week ended dropped 8.1% as compare to the last week. However, the prices of tomatoes, bananas and cooking oil declined as per official data.

The SPI (Sensitive Price Index) which determines inflation for the short term was over 29pc higher than the same week a year before, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.

Moreover, it was a significant deferment from the last few weeks, which reflected year-on-year inflation sky-high which haven’t been witnessed in decades.

However, the year-on-year change in weekly inflation was levitate approximately 16.5pc during the week which ended on 14 April, right after 4 days former premier Imran Khan was ousted from power.
