Things To Know Before Applying for a Passport
We’ve compiled a list of all the passport offices in Islamabad. However, before you travel to any of the branches listed above, there are a few things you should know about which branch you should visit. Let’s have a look at some examples:
• If you are applying for your first passport, you must go to the Regional Passport Office of Islamabad, which is in the same region as your CNIC.
• You are free to renew your passport at any of Pakistan’s Regional Passport Offices. You must, however, produce a gazetted officer with the complete addresses [permanent and temporary]. Not to mention the attested’s CNIC and phone numbers, which must be listed below the stamp.
• Members of the parliament, army troops, and government and semi-government employees are exempted from the law. As a result, they, together with their close family members, such as spouses, children, and parents, can apply for a passport regardless of region.
Documents Required for Passport Application
According to the Passport Act of 1974, Pakistan issues three types of passports. Ordinary Passport, Diplomatic Passport, and Official Passport are examples of these. The method for applying for a passport in Islamabad, however, is identical for all three categories.
Now let’s look at Pakistan’s documents and passport application process.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
The documents needed to apply for a passport in Pakistan vary depending on whether the applicant is an adult or a minor. Likewise, the set of documents required to renew a passport varies. We’ve divided all the material into sections for each category.
Above 18
If you are over the age of 18, you must present the following documents when you arrive at the office:
• Bank receipt of the prescribed fee deposit
• 2 photocopies of CNIC or NICOP
• With dual nationality, a foreign passport and a photocopy of it
• A No-Objection Certificate (NOC) [if you work for the government].
• CNIC original
Below 18
The following are the documents needed to apply for a passport in Pakistan if you are under the age of 18.
• 2 NADRA photocopies of birth certificate
• Bank receipt for the stipulated fee deposit
• 2 photocopies of parents’ CNICs
• The NADRA-issued Computerised Registration Certificate (CRC).
• Foreign passport (original and photocopy) [for dual citizens]
Renewal Of Passport
If you just want to renew your current passport, you’ll need the following documents:
• Receipt of the renewal payment deposit in the bank
• Old Passport as well as its photocopy • Original CNIC and CRC (for children)
Passport Application Procedure in Islamabad
If you have all of your paperwork in one place, the passport application process in Islamabad is simple and quick. Show up at the passport office after that, and you’ll be escorted through the following steps:
• Pay the passport fee at the National Bank Counter and get the receipt as confirmation of payment. After that, go to the Customer Service Counter and get a Pakistani passport application form. Before continuing on to the next stage, you must first complete the form.
• An officer will then take a photo of you and assign you a unique token number.
• At the counter, they will request you to present your digital profile, which includes your fingerprints.
•They will then prompt you to submit your bio-data into the system, which will include your full name, date of birth, address, profession, and other information. If you’re renewing your passport, the authorities would already have your information and will give you a form to double-check it.
Note: It is strongly advised that you double-check the spellings of your name, address, and other information entered the system.
If there are any inaccuracies, have them addressed by the officer to avoid any problems while applying for a visa later. Individuals filing for immigration and student visas should double-check spellings on official documents including mark sheets, CNICs, and other official documents.
• Step 5: Your information will now be compared to existing entries in the Exit Control List (ECL) and Black List (BL).
• Step 6: If you passed step 5, the Regional Passport Office’s Assistant Director will contact you for a final interview. After that, the director will provide you with a receipt with your passport tracking number and delivery date.
Passport Collection Procedure
You must pick up your passport from the same location where you submitted your application.
• Show up at the Passport Collecting Counter on the stated date with the receipt you got from the assistant director for passport collection.
•You can also have your passport sent to your home, however, there will be an additional fee for this service.
