PCB in Hot Water for Leaving Out Only World Cup Winning Skipper Clip from 14th August Celebratory Video

On the occasion of 14th August 2023, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) released a video remembering the history of cricket, however, the video sparked criticism.

On the evening of Independence Day, the PCB shared a video on their Masadiqa X (formerly Twitter) account. The video displayed significant events in the history of cricket spanning from 1952 to the present day. However, the absence of Imran Khan from the video, the sole captain to lead Pakistan to a Cricket World Cup victory in 1992, has led to widespread criticism.

The omission of Imran Khan from the video raised eyebrows among fans and social media users, who expressed their disappointment and called out the PCB for not featuring the cricket legend.

Interestingly, the thumbnail of the video shared by the PCB prominently features a picture of Imran Khan holding the 1992 World Cup trophy alongside six other players. This discrepancy between the video content and the thumbnail led to discussions regarding the PCB’s approach to honoring cricket history and its iconic figures.
