PCB Pays Tribute to Shoaib Akhtar as He Recored World’s Fastest Delivery in 2003 World Cup of 161.3 kph Against England

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recently paid tribute to Shoaib Akhtar, the renowned Pakistani fast bowler, for his historic achievement during the 2003 World Cup. In a match against England, Shoaib Akhtar made cricket history by becoming the first bowler in the Cricket World Cup to deliver a ball at a breathtaking speed of over 100 miles per hour, specifically 100.2mph or 161.3km/h. This remarkable feat occurred during the last ball of his second over, where he bowled a maiden over against the English batsman Nick Knight.

During this extraordinary over, Shoaib Akhtar consistently bowled at remarkable speeds, including deliveries at 153.3km/h, 158.4km/h, 158.5km/h, 157.4km/h, 159.5km/h, and the record-breaking 161.3km/h, resulting in an astonishing average speed of 158.06km/h. This achievement not only etched Shoaib Akhtar’s name in cricket history but also earned him well-deserved recognition and appreciation from cricket enthusiasts and the PCB alike.
