On Monday, all the television stations were being ordered not to broadcast any content that criticizes Military or the Judiciary, by the Pakistan Electronic Media and Regulatory Authority (PEMRA).
It was being stated by the regulatory Authorities, that they have put strict orders on the TV channels, not to show any content which degrades the state institutions during the Talk shows, new Bulletins and live coverage of Public protests.
Additionally, PEMRA stated that ” Furthermore, the licensees have been kept aware of that ridiculing, the state institutions, especially the armed and Judiciary forces, is being forbidden according to PEMRA rules and regulations, including various Supreme Court decisions.”
