Peshawar Students Transform Government Walls with Graffiti, for a Positive City Image

A private university, in partnership with the district administration, has started a Clean and Green campaign in Peshawar city to improve its appearance.

As part of this initiative, university students have painted colorful artworks on the walls of Khyber Teaching Hospital, conveying messages about local culture and social issues to raise awareness.

These artistic wall paintings, created by talented students, serve two purposes: they enhance the visual appeal of Peshawar’s walls and also educate the community about important topics. The campaign aims to expand to other areas of the city, with the Assistant Commissioner expressing excitement and hoping for positive reception from citizens.

The campaign also seeks to showcase the rich culture and history of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Painters from across Pakistan have been invited to contribute their artwork, highlighting the region’s history, particularly that of Peshawar.Participants in the campaign focus on various themes, including climate change, water scarcity, cleanliness, education, culture, and the dangers of addiction.

Their goal is to raise public awareness and inspire positive change. The campaign started with ten volunteers but has attracted over a hundred participants, with more expressing interest in joining.

It demonstrates a collective effort to beautify Peshawar, spread awareness, and create a positive impact on the community. As the project gains momentum, Peshawar’s walls will become vibrant canvases that reflect the region’s heritage and encourage civic responsibility among its residents.
