Today, in the 12th match of the HBL PSL 2024 tournament, Peshawar Zalmi emerged victorious over Lahore Qalandars by a margin of 8 runs at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
Peshawar Zalmi batted first and scored a total of 211 runs. They got off to a strong start during the powerplay, with Saim Ayub contributing 88 runs and Babar Azam adding 48 runs to the scoreboard. Rovman Powell’s quick 39 runs towards the end of the innings further boosted their total. Shaheen Shah Afridi’s took 3 wickets for Lahore Qalandars, keeping the pressure on them.
In their chase, Lahore Qalandars had an amazing start, but Rassie van der Dussen’s outstanding innings of 106 runs almost led them to victory. Ahsan Hafeez and Shai Hope provided valuable support with their partnerships. However, Naveen-ul-Haq’s 3 wickets for Peshawar Zalmi proved to be crucial as they successfully defended their total and secured the win.
