Petrol Price in Pakistan Increased by Rs. 7.45, New Price Rs. 265.6

The government has announced that petrol and high-speed diesel prices will increase starting from July 1. According to the Finance Division, petrol prices will go up by Rs7.45 per litre, making the new price Rs265.61 per litre. Similarly, the price of high-speed diesel will rise by Rs9.56 per litre, bringing it to Rs277 per litre.

These price changes are due to fluctuations in international market prices, as assessed by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra). This is the first time the prices have been adjusted since the federal budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 was announced earlier in June.

The government also mentioned that there will be no changes to the current taxes and duties on these fuels.

The increase in petrol and diesel prices reflects the ongoing changes in the global oil market, which affect the cost of importing these fuels. The new rates are aimed at keeping up with the rising costs in the international market. This adjustment means that consumers will have to pay more for petrol and diesel starting from July 1.

These changes can have a significant impact on various aspects of daily life. Higher fuel prices often lead to increased transportation costs, which can affect the prices of goods and services. People who rely on petrol and diesel for their vehicles will have to spend more on fuel, which can strain household budgets.

The government has not changed the taxes and duties on fuel, so the increase is purely due to the higher cost of fuel in the international market.
