The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has proposed a raise in the price of fuel by Rs4.20 per litre to the federal government in line with volatility in global oil prices.
If approved, the new pricing will take effect on Wednesday (Jun 16). The price of high-speed diesel (HSD) may, however, fall by Rs3.50 per litre.
In the transportation and agriculture industries, HSD is frequently employed. As a result, a choice to cut its price will benefit consumers in these two big industries. The costs are based on the current petroleum levy rates of Rs5.14 per litre on HSD and Rs4.80 per litre on petrol.
The administration had previously stated that oil prices would be maintained beginning June 1, 2021. To provide assistance to customers, the prime agreed to keep petroleum product prices at the level of May 17, 2021.
