Pharmaceutical Exports Grew by 24% Over the Last Nine Months

Exports of pharmaceutical products from the country increased by 24.76 percent in the first nine months of the fiscal year (2020-21) compared to the same timeframe the previous year.

According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, pharmaceutical exports totaled US $207.304 million in July-March 2020-21, up from US $166.157 million in July-March 2019-20. This represents a 24.76 percent increase (PBS).

In terms of quantity, pharmaceutical product exports increased by 55.56 percent, from 12,135 metric tons to 18,877 metric tons, as per data.

Meanwhile, pharmaceutical goods exports increased by 37.38 percent year over year in March 2021 compared to the same month the previous year.

The PBS data showed that pharmaceutical exports in March 2021 totaled $22.823 million, compared to $16.613 million in March 2020.

Pharmaceutical exports increased by 0.05 percent month over month in March 2021, to $22.811 million, compared to $22.811 million in February 2021.
