Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and other private airlines have soared airfares up to PKR 70,000 on domestic flights on the flux of passengers.
According to the sources, the return ticket from Karachi to Lahore and from Islamabad to Karachi is falling in the range of Rs. 35,000 – Rs. 70,000. The rise in domestic airfares is a consequence of a multitude of passengers booking flights as well as gaps in the demand and supply chain.
The sources stated that they are aware of the situation and after the flux of passengers will reduce, the fares will be back to normal rates.
In addition, petrol prices have also soared by Rs. 19.95/litre settling at Rs. 272.95, announced by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, on Tuesday. The rate of high-speed diesel has also reached Rs. 273.40.
