PIA has announced plans to activate additional Boeing 777 and Airbus aircraft within the next six months, increasing its operational fleet to 24 aircraft. Currently, PIA has 34 planes in total, but only 16 are operational.
To boost its fleet, PIA has already added three more aircraft, including a Boeing 777, an Airbus 320, and an ATR, bringing the total active planes to 19. The Boeing 777 will be used for flights to Europe, and preparations for the 2025 Hajj operations are also underway.
CEO Khurram Mushtaq has set a target to have all 34 planes in service by the end of the year, which is expected to help increase the airline’s revenue.
In addition to these developments, PIA has approved a 25% salary increase for its employees, and a new Airbus 320 is already in service for commercial flights. This expansion plan marks a significant step in improving PIA’s operations and increasing its fleet’s efficiency.
