Football in Palestine is preparing to resume on September 4 after being suspended for almost three years due to the impact of the Gaza war.
The Palestinian Football Association has announced a comeback tournament featuring more than 200 clubs. Named the “Thousand Martyrs’ Cup,” the competition will honour athletes who lost their lives during the conflict.
Teams from the West Bank, Gaza and Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon are expected to participate in the tournament, bringing players and clubs together after a long period of disruption.
