Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, the Minister for Interior, has recently announced that the government has decided to raise the salaries of the Airport Security Force (ASF) members by 15%, in line with the salaries of other civil armed forces.
“Prime Minister Imran Khan has given his approval in this regard,” the minister said in a statement. He further added, “The ASF employees will get the increase in their salary with effect from March 1”.
According to the minister, the federal government has earlier established a 15% disparity allowance for federal employees in grades 1-19. However, the ad hoc allowance was not available to ASF.
On February 9, the federal government agreed to raise salary packages to narrow the gap between civil and military pay, since the government had awarded all ranks of the armed forces a comparable 15% pay raise in July last year, in addition to their special package.
Moreover, Prime Minister Imran Khan declared on February 8 that the salaries of the paramilitary forces will be increased by 15%.
