The 2020 spring tree plantation drive in Mianwali was launched by Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday, sources reported.
By planting a sapling at Kundian, the Prime Minister inaugurated the plantation drive. Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar was also present at the planting drive.
The program of revival and restoration announced by the Office of the Prime Minister is aimed at the restoration of forests and wilderness control.
“In order to complete the green agenda of the government, the current planting campaign will be instrumental. The Green Agenda aims not only to conserve the environment, but also to create jobs for socio-economic sustainability, green jobs, particularly women and the young,” the statement added.
On a visit to his birthplace, the Prime Minister will also attend the convocation of NAML University as a chief guest.
The Prime Minister initiated the “10 Billion Tree Plantation Drive” in Balloki, Nankana Sahib, in February last year.
