The Pakistani government is recently considering to grant residency or
citizenship to foreigners who invest in the country.
“We are drafting a long-term residency policy in order to attract
foreign investors. However, it is not limited to Afghan investors and is
open to all countries listed on Pakistan’s Business Visa List (BCL),”
stated the Board of Investment official in response to a question following a
meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
According to reliable sources, the idea of granting citizenship/residency to
foreign investors was discussed at the meeting, with a special focus on Afghans
living in Pakistan.
The idea of granting citizenship to foreign investors was initially focused
on Afghan investors, but it was later approved to begin the process of offering
Pakistan citizenship to investors from other nations as well.
