Asim Iftikhar, a spokesperson for the Foreign Office, announced that the premier will visit the neighbouring country on February 3 for three days at the request of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The spokeswoman said during the prime minister’s visit, officials from Islamabad and Beijing would discuss a variety of issues, including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The visit of the Pakistani PM is crucial since major western countries have planned a diplomatic boycott of the event, which will start on February 4.
