PM Shehbaz to Visit Turkiye for Official Meetings with President Erdogan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will soon visit Turkiye on an official trip. During his visit, he will meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to talk about the relationship between Pakistan and Turkiye, as well as important issues in the region.

This visit shows the strong and long-lasting friendship between the two countries. Their partnership has grown stronger over the years through the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC), which helps both sides work closely on different projects.

The last time Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Erdogan met under this council was in February 2025, when they co-chaired the 7th session in Islamabad.

One of the main reasons for this visit is to build on recent progress in energy cooperation. Pakistan and Turkiye have signed a joint agreement to explore offshore energy areas in the Makran and Indus basins. This step is expected to increase foreign investment in Pakistan’s energy sector and improve energy development in the region.

The leaders will also likely discuss trade, defense cooperation, cultural ties, and ways to work together for peace and stability in the region. The visit highlights the importance both countries place on strengthening their relationship and finding new ways to support each other’s economic and strategic goals.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Turkiye is a sign of continued cooperation and shared goals between the two nations. It also reflects the commitment of both sides to take their partnership to the next level, especially in areas like energy, investment, and regional development.

The outcomes of this visit could bring new opportunities for both Pakistan and Turkiye, boosting their economic and diplomatic ties even further.
