Poultry Association Forecasts Rs. 1,000/kg Chicken Price

Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf, the chairman of the Pakistan Poultry Association, has voiced concern that a lack of feed, a crucial component of Pakistan’s diet, could cause the price of chicken to climb to Rs1,000 per kilogram soon.

According to Ashraf, the cost of broiler chicken in Karachi is currently between Rs500 and Rs600 per kilogram.

He further noted that despite payments being paid, the government’s technical problems are causing about 12 containers totaling 0.75 million tonnes of soybean and canola to be held at the port.

He continued, “Feed manufacturers have reported that they do not have the appropriate items available due to the shortage of soybean and canola availability.
