PPSC Offering Multiple Job Positions in Pakistan

The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has announced 15 openings for the position of Senior Registrar Ophthalmology (BS-18) in the Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department. These vacancies include one post reserved for minorities and three posts reserved for women, offered on a regular basis.

Qualification Requirements

To be eligible for the position of Senior Registrar Ophthalmology, candidates must meet one of the following qualification criteria:

  1. Primary Qualification:
  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a university recognized by the Pakistan Medical Commission.
  • FCPS, MS, FRCS, MRCP, MD, or Diplomate of the American Board in the respective specialty.
  • Equivalent medical qualification in the respective specialty from a recognized university.
  1. Alternative Qualification:
  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a university recognized by the Pakistan Medical Commission.
  • FCPS, MS, FRCS, MRCP, MD, or Diplomate of the American Board in General Surgery or Medicine (relevant to the specialty).
  • Three years of post-graduation practical experience in the respective specialty from a recognized institution.

Age Limit

  • Male Candidates: 25 to 45 years plus a 7-year general age relaxation, making the maximum age limit 52 years.
  • Female Candidates: 22 to 45 years plus a 10-year general age relaxation, making the maximum age limit 55 years.

Required Documents for Eligibility

Candidates must provide the following original documents for scrutiny to be eligible for the position:

  1. Valid CNIC: Must not be expired on the last day of applying online (07-11-2022).
  2. Educational Certificates: Matriculation/O Level and Intermediate/A Level certificates (equivalence certificates from IBCC if applicable).
  3. Medical Qualifications: MBBS or equivalent degree and FCPS, MS, FRCS, MRCP, MD, or Diplomate of the American Board in the respective specialty (or relevant qualification with required experience).
  4. Permanent Registration Certificate: Valid registration from the PMDC/Pakistan Medical Commission showing postgraduate qualifications, issued on or before the closing date.
  5. Experience Certificate: Detailed job duties and three years of post-graduation practical experience in the respective specialty from a recognized institute (applicable for the second qualification category).
  6. Domicile Certificate: Issued on or before the closing date.
  7. Departmental Permission Certificate: For government employees.
  8. Equivalence Certificates: From HEC or QEDC for equivalent qualifications.
  9. Disability Certificate: If applicable.

Important Notes

Candidates who have applied for PMDC/PMC registration or renewal on or before the closing date but have not yet received their certificates may still be considered eligible. They must provide documentary evidence of their application properly stamped and signed by the PMDC/PMC.
