Prime Minister E-bike Scheme in Pakistan; Check Details!

In a move to tackle climate issues and promote clean transport, the federal government has introduced a new electric bike scheme that will make eco-friendly travel easier for people across Pakistan.

The scheme is expected to be officially launched by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on August 14 as part of the country’s Independence Day celebrations. This step shows the government’s strong focus on cutting fuel costs and moving towards sustainable ways of commuting.

To make the plan successful, the government has set aside Rs9 billion in the current year’s budget. Each e-bike will get a subsidy of Rs65,000 to reduce the price for buyers. The rest of the amount can be paid through interest-free bank loans, which will help many citizens switch to electric bikes without heavy financial stress.

The process to apply for an e-bike will be simple and open to everyone online. If more people apply than the number of bikes available, a fair draw will decide who gets selected.

Looking ahead, the government wants to put at least 2 million electric bikes on the road by 2030. The larger plan also includes adding thousands of electric rickshaws, cars, buses, and trucks to Pakistan’s transport system in the coming years.

This big push for electric vehicles shows that Pakistan is serious about fighting climate change and giving people better and cleaner travel options. Citizens are encouraged to keep an eye out for registration details and take advantage of this green opportunity when it opens.
