Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurates the world’s highest altitude airport in Skardu

The world’s highest altitude airport, Skardu International Airport, and the Jaglot-Skardu crucial route were opened by Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday.

The government’s attempt to encourage tourism and economic growth in the scenic region includes the upgrading of Skardu airport and the construction of the road.

Skardu airport, at an elevation of almost 7,000 feet, is one of the world’s highest altitude airports. It has a 12,000-foot main runway and an 8,500-foot secondary runway.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said that because of improved connectivity and the upgrading of Skardu airport to world standards, both international and domestic visitors will flock to the region in big numbers. He went on to say that direct flights will enhance tourism.
