Professional butchers get their schedules packed during Eid Al-Adha days. The team of butchers during Eid days charges a sophisticated amount of money for performing the sacrifice of animals. Although the rates differ depending on the location and the animal.
Normally, a team of professional butchers consists of 5 – 8 members. A professional Qasai on the first day of Eid earns an estimated Rs. 30,000 – Rs. 40,000 from the Qurbani of a normal cow. A whole team of butchers on average performs Qurbani of around 8 – 12 animals on the first Eid day earning an approximate amount of 3 – 5 lacs.
The approximation can be more or less depending upon the animal as well as the location. The rates are usually higher for camels and lesser for goats. The amounts can also vary on the 2nd and 3rd day of Eid.
Eid Al-Adha which rejuvenates the spirits of spending in the way of Allah (SWT) also serves as an event for financial stability for butchers.
