Prophet’s Mosque Roof Prepared to Accommodate 90,000 Worshipers During Ramadan

The organization in charge of taking care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque is getting ready for Ramadan. They want to make sure that about 90,000 people can pray and break their fast on the roof of the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina every day.

The roof of the mosque is really big, covering an area of about 67,000 square meters. It’s a calm and peaceful place for people to pray. You can get there using 24 different staircases near the entrances of the mosque. And to help people move around easily, they’ve put in six escalators. This will help especially when lots of people are there during the busiest times.

The staff at the General Authority is working together with charities and volunteers to make all these arrangements. They’re cleaning and disinfecting the mosque’s surface, spraying to get rid of bugs, putting down 5,000 prayer rugs, and setting up areas where people can break their fast.

They’re also giving out meals, special water called Zamzam, and more than 20,000 Qurans to help people who are fasting and praying.

If you need help or directions, they’ve got people there to guide you. And they start getting everything ready for iftar, the meal to break the fast, right before sunset. This way, everything is set up and ready for people to pray after they’ve eaten.
